The Dragon Language Has No Tenses

Senior designer Emil Pagliarulo has explained that as the Dragon language grew, it became too complicated for the design team to use consistently, so verb tenses, conjugation, and apostrophes were dropped altogether to keep it manageable.

Hired for Mo-Cap, Became the Voice

Michael Hollick wasn't originally brought on to be the voice of Niko Bellic at all - he was hired purely to handle motion capture work. It was only after he auditioned that Rockstar decided he should be the actual voice too, and Niko went on to become one of the most well-regarded protagonists in the series.

Downey Jr Wanted Tony to Open the Film

When Downey Jr first read the script he pushed hard for Tony to lead the opening sequence, telling Whedon 'I need to be in the opening sequence, Tony needs to drive this thing.' They actually tried filming it that way, but Downey himself admitted it didn't work, saying everyone else just ended up feeling like 'an arm of the octopus' around him.

Wiping Notch Off the Title Screen

Long after the sale, Mojang quietly stripped out some of the splash text jokes that used to flash across the main menu, including 'Made by Notch!', 'The Work of Notch!' and a cheeky '110813!' referencing his old wedding date. He's still credited in the closing credits, but that little nod on the title screen is gone for good.

Season 3 Picked Up Back-to-Back Emmy Nominations

The show landed consecutive Primetime Emmy nominations in both 2024 and 2025, and Season 3 was also nominated for the Critics' Choice Award for Best Animated Series in 2025, cementing it as one of the more critically respected superhero shows on TV right now, animated or otherwise.

No Factions Here, On Purpose

The multiplayer mode Factions was a genuine fan favourite from the first game, but Naughty Dog made a deliberate call to leave it out of Part 2 entirely so the whole team could pour every ounce of effort into the single-player campaign. They were clear that Factions wasn't gone for good, just parked for a while.

A Giant Skeleton on Mount Shann

Rockstar can never resist a Sasquatch nod, and RDR2 hides one on Mount Shann, north of Strawberry. Climb high enough and you'll find an enormous skeleton lodged in the rock. The game never says what it is outright, but most players are fairly certain it's meant to be Bigfoot.

It's Single-Player Only, At Least for Now

Rockstar has been very direct about this one: GTA VI launches as a single-player experience with no online mode included at release. A GTA Online-style follow-up is widely assumed to be coming eventually, but nothing has been named, dated, or confirmed for it yet.

Launched the Same Day as GTA2's PS2 Port

GTA III hit shelves on the exact same release date as the PlayStation 2 port of GTA2, two years after the original came out. Odd bit of scheduling that meant old and new GTA were sitting on shelves side by side.

The Dark Brotherhood's Night Mother Was Once Just a Grieving Mother

According to Dark Brotherhood lore, the Night Mother began as a nameless woman with five children who was approached by the Daedric Prince Sithis and offered a place at his side in exchange for killing her own children. She accepted, murdered them, and became the undead matron figure the Dark Brotherhood still worships in Skyrim.
