A Whole Quest Built on The Hangover

The Daedric quest 'A Night to Remember' has the Dragonborn wake up after a blackout night with the Daedric Prince Sanguine, then retrace their steps across Skyrim to fix the chaos they caused, mirroring the plot of the 2009 comedy The Hangover beat for beat.

Numbani's Cargo Used to Be a Legendary Gauntlet

Numbani's payload didn't always go to a museum for mystery cargo — it used to be the Doomfist gauntlet itself, headed to an exhibit dedicated to the three men who'd worn it over the years. The cargo got swapped out later, likely because the gauntlet ended up back in the hands of the third Doomfist, Akande Ogundimu.

The Project Started Back in 2022

Dragonwilds wasn't thrown together to chase the survival-crafting trend overnight. According to a Jagex developer answering community questions on Discord, work on the game actually began in 2022, years before players ever heard about it.

The Workshop Behind the Magic

Almost everything on screen that isn't CGI, from weapons to prosthetics to miniature sets, came out of Weta Workshop. It was a level of practical craftsmanship film hadn't really attempted at that scale before, and it changed how fantasy movies got made afterward.

Sadie's Story Ran on Its Own Website Too

The 30 audio logs scattered around Mombasa Streets weren't just an in-game collectible. Studio Fourth Wall built Sadie's Story as a companion alternate reality experience on Bungie.net, complete with the same illustrated slideshows, so fans could follow Sadie's side of the invasion outside the game entirely. Bungie.net is long gone now, but the whole thing still survives on the Wayback Machine.

The Bonus Prequel Nobody Talks About

The special edition PS2 release and the official soundtrack CD came with a bonus DVD containing a short film called The Introduction, built in the game's own engine. It quietly sets up plot threads that pay off later in San Fierro and Las Venturas.

Something Is Locked Inside That Outhouse

Near Braithwaite Manor there's a chained-shut outhouse that's easy to walk straight past. Get close enough and you'll hear a woman inside muttering gibberish to herself. Switch to first-person and peer through the gaps and she might just lunge at you. The game never tells you what, exactly, she is.

Why It's Called the Gravemind

The name of the Flood's central intelligence wasn't lifted from any existing mythology, it was coined by Bungie staff writer Jaime Griesemer specifically for the character. The Gravemind is voiced throughout the trilogy by actor Dee Bradley Baker, known for his extensive voice work across animation and games.

Bryan Cranston Almost Played Jerry

While he was still playing Walter White on Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston actually auditioned for the role of Jerry Smith. He lost out to Chris Parnell, which honestly feels like the universe course-correcting, because it's very hard to imagine Heisenberg's voice coming out of Rick and Morty's most useless dad.

Shoot to Thrill Comes Back in The Avengers

The AC/DC track blasting as Tony makes his grand entrance at the Stark Expo is 'Shoot to Thrill,' and Marvel brought it back two years later for the moment Tony faces off with Loki in his tower during The Avengers.
