The opening interrogation scene where Natasha's chatting away in Russian before flipping the situation on her captors was a bit of a passion project moment for Whedon. He studied Russian language and literature back in college, and this was the first time in his career he actually got to put that degree to use on screen.
Every one of Bard's voice lines is really just chiming noises to anyone in Runeterra, since he's technically speaking in a voice mortal ears can't process. The Caravan card game challenges Know When to Fold 'Em and Know When to Hold 'Em are lifted straight from the lyrics of Kenny Rogers' classic song The Gambler. It's a small touch, but it fits the whole Vegas-casino vibe of the game so well that it almost feels like it should have always been there.
On The Russian, there's a snowman wedged between two trees that most players run straight past without noticing. It's not exactly hard to find once you know it's there, but blink and you'll miss it mid-firefight.
Both Kevin Feige and Joss Whedon went out of their way beforehand to tell audiences not to expect a post-credits scene this time.
