The Whole Game Is One Shot

There's no loading screen and no hard cut for the entire 20+ hour campaign. Director Cory Barlog wanted the camera to feel like it never looks away from Kratos, so gameplay bleeds straight into cutscenes and back again without you ever noticing the seams.

The One-Shot Idea Was Rejected Years Earlier

Before he came back to Santa Monica Studio, Cory Barlog briefly worked on the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot and pitched the same unbroken-camera concept there. Crystal Dynamics wasn't interested, so he shelved it until he had a game of his own to try it on.
