The Duffers Only Made Stranger Things Because They Were Rejected From It
While the 2017 remake of Stephen King's It was in early development, Matt and Ross Duffer actually pitched themselves as directors for it and got turned down. Rather than sulk, they redirected all that Stephen King energy into their own passion project instead, which became Stranger Things. There's a nice bit of irony in the fact that Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, ended up starring in the actual It movies anyway.
From PS4 to PC, Five Years Later

The idea of a bigger villain pulling strings behind Loki actually came from Whedon himself. He suggested the Mad Titan Thanos as that hidden mastermind, got him written into the post credits scene, and had no idea at the time just how central that character would become to the entire franchise years later.

During the G.I. Blues quest you can find three men camped out named Roy, Wayne, and Farris. Put those together and you get Roy Wayne Farris, the real name of 80s wrestling star The Honky Tonk Man. It's such an obscure reference that even people who've played the game dozens of times tend to miss it completely.
Buck's Secret Encounter with an Old Friend
During the epilogue, right as Vergil lights up Sergeant Johnson's cigar, nudge the right stick to the left and the camera drifts off to the side. You'll catch Buck crouched next to what looks like an ape, grooming it and, well, eating something out of its fur before the screen cuts to black. Look closer and that creature is wearing the face of Halo art director Marcus Lehto, the same joke used for the cavemen back in Halo 3's Sierra 117.
The Ghast's Secret Voice Actor
Those unnerving Ghast screeches drifting through the Nether aren't some digitally engineered monster sound, they're a real cat. Composer C418 apparently caught his own cat's startled meow on a recording session, and rather than replace it, that panicked yowl got worked straight into the Ghast's audio and has stayed there ever since.
Innkeeper Bates and His Motel
Tucked away at the Sepulcher in Silverpine Forest is a Forsaken innkeeper who goes by the name Bates. Given that the surrounding zone is dripping with gothic horror atmosphere already, it's hard to believe the Norman Bates nod running the local lodging is a coincidence.

Voice actor Wes Johnson returned to the Elder Scrolls series to voice Sheogorath, Emperor Titus Mede II, the Spectral Assassin, the Wretched Abyss (Hermaeus Mora), and the game's Dremora, plus Hermaeus Mora again in the Dragonborn expansion.
