Lilith, the demon driving most of Diablo IV's story, isn't some new player in Sanctuary's history. She's the daughter of Mephisto, one of the original Three Prime Evils, which makes the whole conflict feel a lot more personal once you know the family tree.
In 2016 Justin Roiland launched his own game studio and called it Squanchtendo, a mashup of the show's promiscuous alien Squanchy and Nintendo. He later renamed it Squanch Games at the end of 2017, and it went on to make the VR title Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality and the sci-fi comedy game High on Life.
The Riddler really went all out for the sequel, hiding a total of 440 Riddler Trophies across Arkham City on top of 40 separate riddles to solve. Some of them are set aside specifically for Catwoman and glow a different colour, since Batman gets electrocuted if he tries to grab those ones himself. It roughly doubles what Arkham Asylum threw at players, which tells you a lot about Rocksteady's confidence in the bigger map.
Michael Dorn, best known for playing Worf, returns as the super mutant Marcus, a character he'd already voiced back in Fallout 2. It's a nice bit of continuity for long-time fans, bringing back the same actor for a character who'd been off-screen since the second game in the series.
During Kratos's very first fight with Baldur, he gets slammed into a stone slab, and if you catch it in the moment, that slab is carved with the exact same giant prophecy mural that shows up properly near the end. Most players only realise it on a replay.
The underwater stretch of the Deeprun Tram, which links Stormwind and Ironforge, occasionally has visitors: a Loch Ness-style sea serpent, a huge basking shark, the odd diver, and a chest that spawns and vanishes without explanation.
Keep an eye on the furniture in Tommen's bedroom and the Small Council chamber and you'll spot chairs and decor carved with dragon motifs left over from Targaryen rule. The production team put them there on purpose, a subtle hint that the Baratheons and Lannisters never fully redecorated after seizing power and just kept using the old Targaryen furnishings.
Naughty Dog built such a detailed guitar-playing system for Ellie that players quickly figured out they could recreate actual songs on it, note for note, using the touchpad to strum and a chord wheel to fret. People have pulled off everything from Nirvana to Metallica to a fingerpicked take on A-ha's Take On Me, all without a single line of code being changed.
Right near the end of the film there's a map behind Nick Fury marking various locations of interest to SHIELD, and one of the pins sits squarely in the region that would later be revealed as Wakanda.
