Hamill Deliberately Made the Joker Darker for This Game

Mark Hamill has said that once he saw the character model for this version of the Joker, he made a conscious choice to push the performance in a darker, more unhinged direction than his animated series take, while still keeping that playful, clownish streak underneath. It's a big part of why this Joker still gets brought up as one of the character's best portrayals.

Thunderfury Was Forged From a Captured God

Long before it became one of vanilla WoW's signature legendary swords, Thunderfury's power came from Thunderaan, Prince of Air, who was defeated by Ragnaros and his lieutenants and had his essence sealed into a talisman split in two. Ages later a devoted follower fused the halves back together and, unable to fully free his master, poured what remained of him into a blade instead.

Five Suits, All Comic Accurate

The film runs through roughly five different armor variants, and every one of them is pulled from the comics in some way. The gold-only look JARVIS shows off first is a wink to the classic 'Golden Avenger' era, while the finished red and gold design echoes the 1980s Silver Centurion armor.

The Goldshire Demon Children

Goldshire is one of the first towns Alliance players ever see, but around 6am server time it briefly turns sinister: six children spawn, walk in a tight pentagram formation, and head upstairs in a nearby house, with unsettling sound cues if you follow them.

A Perk Named After a 1950s Doo-Wop Hit

The Mister Sandman perk, which lets you kill sleeping targets silently, takes its name from the 1954 song of the same name by The Chordettes. Given how much of the game's soundtrack and quest naming leans on 50s and 60s music, it fits right in with everything else going on around it.

Jonah Hill And Sam Worthington Sold The Game

The TV advert that helped push MW3 to its record-breaking launch featured Jonah Hill and Sam Worthington blasting their way through a war-torn city rather than any of the game's own cast, leaning hard into star power to grab attention in a crowded holiday season.

Armani Designed Costumes for a One Piece Film

For One Piece Film: Z in 2012, the fashion label A/X Armani Exchange teamed up with Oda to design outfits for the Straw Hat crew. It's an unusual pairing on paper, high fashion meeting a pirate cartoon, but it shows just how far the franchise's reach extended even over a decade ago.
