The Double Finger Snap

To open the hidden passage into the Nightshades' meeting room, Wednesday snaps her fingers twice in rhythm. That's a direct lift from Vic Mizzy's theme tune for the original 1964 series, where the finger snaps were basically the show's whole percussion section.

A Precursor Orb in the Rubble

Tucked away among the debris in one of the exploration-heavy Seattle areas is a glowing orb that looks suspiciously familiar to anyone who grew up with Naughty Dog's earlier platformer series. It's a straight-up reference to the Precursor Orbs collected throughout the Jak and Daxter games.

The Novels Take You 3,000 Years Before Diablo

The Sin War trilogy isn't set anywhere near the events of the games. It rewinds the clock 3,000 years before the fall of Tristram and follows a farmer named Uldyssian as he gets tangled up in the ancient war between angels and demons over Sanctuary.

Serena and Dan Were Childhood Classmates in Real Life

Blake Lively and Penn Badgley didn't meet on set like most people assume. They were actually homeschooled together as kids, and their real-life romance picked back up once they were both cast on the show playing Serena and Dan.

A Very Well-Armed Teddy Bear

On the multiplayer map Lockdown there's a building just outside the normal play area with a window round the back that most players never fly past. Peek through it with a Recon Drone or in Spectator mode and you'll find an oversized teddy bear casually holding a pair of gold Desert Eagles.

The M-K Memorial

On a hill southwest of Crossroads in the Barrens sits a small shrine dedicated to an orc marked only with the initials 'M-K.' It honours Michel Koiter, a Blizzard illustrator who passed away during the game's development, a spirit healer named Koiter can be found nearby.

Peni Parker's Anime Glow-Up

The bubbly, anime-inspired take on Peni Parker that this movie made popular is actually a pretty big departure from her original comic version, who was written as much more solemn and serious. This film's cheerier, more genki-girl interpretation ended up sticking so hard that it shaped how she's been written ever since, showing up again in the sequel and later in games like Marvel Rivals.

The Credits Aren't Actually The End

Let the credits roll, go back home, and choose to sleep, and you'll get one extra scene: Thor shows up on the doorstep in the middle of a violent thunderstorm. It's a quiet little tease for the sequel that plenty of players never bother sticking around to see.

It Started As a Prince of Persia Spin-Off

Before it became its own thing, Assassin's Creed was pitched internally as 'Prince of Persia: Assassin', meant to be a spin-off of Sands of Time. The story drifted so far from the Prince that Ubisoft eventually cut it loose to stand on its own two feet.

Hayashi Composed the Whole Score Solo

On plenty of his other shows, like Haikyu!!, Yuki Hayashi split composing duties with fellow musician Asami Tachibana. For MHA he went it alone, cranking out 34 tracks for the first season and another 46 for the second entirely by himself.
