The Skull From Left Behind
Partway through Chapter 8, after a nerve-wracking grapple swing off a crumbling tower, drop down into a small hidden nook below the branch instead of continuing on. There's a collectible plastic skull waiting there that you can shake like a Magic 8-Ball for a little fortune. It's the same Strange Skull toy that first popped up in The Last of Us: Left Behind.
Anvil's Little Mermaid
Down by the docks in Anvil there's a statue in the water that's clearly scaled up from The Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen harbour, easily the most photographed statue in Denmark. It's a small, quiet homage that most players sail straight past without noticing.
Ice-T Played a Rapper on the Skids
Gangsta rap pioneer Ice-T voiced Madd Dogg, the fading rap star whose career CJ accidentally wrecks early on before eventually helping put back together. It's a nice bit of stunt casting, given Ice-T basically lived through the era the character is parodying.
It's Single-Player Only, At Least for Now
Rockstar has been very direct about this one: GTA VI launches as a single-player experience with no online mode included at release. A GTA Online-style follow-up is widely assumed to be coming eventually, but nothing has been named, dated, or confirmed for it yet.

Whedon's first pass at the script actually featured Ant-Man and the Wasp, the original founding Avengers in the comics, rather than Hawkeye and Black Widow. He'd even wanted Zooey Deschanel to play the Wasp, but the plan got swapped out in favour of characters Marvel already had set up on screen.
The Bonus Prequel Nobody Talks About
The special edition PS2 release and the official soundtrack CD came with a bonus DVD containing a short film called The Introduction, built in the game's own engine. It quietly sets up plot threads that pay off later in San Fierro and Las Venturas.
Nate Plays the Original Crash Bandicoot
Early in Chapter 4, you can find Nate and Elena's home console set up with a fully playable, emulated version of the original PS1 Crash Bandicoot. You can actually take control of Crash yourself, and it's mapped to the D-pad rather than a thumbstick, matching how the game was originally controlled back in 1996.

The perk system, killstreaks, and customisable loadouts that feel completely standard in shooters today all trace back to this game. It's been copied so thoroughly by other studios that it's now considered unusual for a modern shooter not to have some version of it.
