Terky and the Murloc Egg Behind the Altar

In Borean Tundra there's a cave with its entrance hidden underwater behind some grass. Inside, the glowing orb on the altar is a decoy, and the real prize is a white murloc egg tucked into a nest behind it. Loot it and you can summon Terky, a tiny white murloc who breaks into a little dance every now and then.

The Lost Mail Questline Nobody Sees Coming

Every so often a small white letter turns up on the ground near the mailbox at the Violet Citadel in Legion's Dalaran, easy to miss against the pale floor. Pick it up and you start a surprisingly long questline helping the city's postmaster, ending with a title, a battle pet and a toy that lets you summon your own mailbox anywhere.

A Fruit Hat That Makes Your Whole Garrison Dance

Under a wooden staircase in the Imperial Granary in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms you can loot an Enchanting Fruit Hat. Wear it and your character dances constantly, even on a mount. The best bit is in your Warlords garrison, where every follower and worker lines up behind you and dances along in a conga line.

Thrall, Varian and Ragnaros Share One Voice

Chris Metzen, one of the people who shaped Warcraft's story, doesn't only write the lore, he performs it. He's the voice of the orc chieftain Thrall, and he also played Varian Wrynn and Ragnaros the Firelord in the game. He kept voicing Thrall even after retiring from Blizzard in 2016.

Crildor, the Night Elf Who Does Nothing

There's a night elf patrolling Darnassus called Crildor who has no quests, sells nothing and just wanders about. He's a memorial to a Warcraft fansite moderator who went by that name online and died in a car accident in 2003, one of the quieter tributes hidden in the world.

Arugal Woke the Worgen and Regretted It

The mad wizard at the top of Shadowfang Keep wasn't always a villain. Arugal and a fellow mage called Ur decided to wake the worgen, created by the Druids of the Fang, as super soldiers against the Scourge. It worked, until the worgen spread their curse, killed the keep's owner Baron Silverlaine and left Arugal guilt-ridden and living with his 'children'.

The Boss Hidden in the Scarlet Cathedral's Panic Room

At the end of what looks like a dead-end hallway in the Scarlet Monastery cathedral there's a hidden room holding High Inquisitor Fairbanks. In life he survived the Culling of Stratholme, tried to warn the Crusade about what he'd seen and was killed by the knights of the Scarlet Crusade, who claimed he showed signs of plague. Others who believed him broke away to form the Argent Dawn.

The Man Who Actually Voices the Murlocs

The famous 'Mrglglgl' murloc gurgle comes from one person, sound designer Tracy Bush, who also worked on Warcraft III's audio. Murlocs are the only thing he ever voiced in WoW, and he left Blizzard for NCSoft in 2007.

South Park Won an Emmy With Blizzard's Help

When South Park decided to make an episode about WoW, Trey Parker and Matt Stone were stunned that Blizzard agreed to help. Blizzard let them shoot scenes on the Burning Crusade alpha server, and 'Make Love, Not Warcraft' went on to win the 2007 Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program.

Murlocs May Be Smarter Than They Let On

Everyone treats murlocs as a joke, but Warcraft's own lore hints otherwise. After learning their language, King Mrgl-Mrgl found the Winterfin murlocs of Borean Tundra to be just as intelligent as any 'civilized' race, and Brann Bronzebeard reckons they're smart enough not to let anyone know it.
