Three Levels That Never Made It Out
Tucked into the remaster are three Lost Levels, unfinished early builds of sections that got cut from the final game, complete with developer commentary explaining why certain ideas didn't survive. Interestingly, all three belong to Ellie's story, so anything that got trimmed from Abby's side is still a mystery.
The Title's Towers Aren't the Book's Towers
In Tolkien's version, the 'two towers' of the title refer to Orthanc and Minas Morgul. Jackson's film swaps that second one out, pairing Orthanc with Barad-dur instead.

M'aiq the Liar Has Wandered Every Elder Scrolls Game Since Morrowind
M'aiq the Liar is a wandering Khajiit who appears somewhere in Skyrim, dispensing cryptic, often fourth-wall-breaking commentary on the game itself. He's a recurring series in-joke, having also turned up in Morrowind and Oblivion, always deliberately unreliable about what he tells the player.
The Reboot Couldn't Film Where the Original Did
Showrunner Joshua Safran has said the 2021 series never got to shoot a single scene on the Lower East Side, since so many other productions were competing for the same New York City blocks. He called it a 'production nightmare' compared to how much freer filming was for the original show.
The Galaga High Score Gag
Stark clocks a SHIELD agent slacking off playing Galaga on the Helicarrier and makes fun of him for it. The joke doesn't stop there though - the second Tony walks off, the agent goes right back to playing, and if you pause on the screen his score matches the game's existing high score. He was mid-run on the best game of his life and Stark just had to go and ruin it.

During the training duel between Bruce and Ducard on the frozen lake, Bale and Liam Neeson could hear the ice splitting and cracking under their feet all day long. They had to hold completely still whenever it happened. By the time the crew came back the next day to reshoot anything, the whole lake had thawed.

Find the right building and you can climb up to a specific apartment that's just soaked in Scarface references, blood-stained bathroom, chainsaw and all. It's a straight nod to the film's infamous scene, and it's a little unsettling how much care went into recreating something so grim in a game that otherwise plays its violence for laughs.
