Oda Drew Mr. 7 Overnight
Once reminded that he'd mentioned the character in an old fan Q&A session years earlier, Oda went away and came back the very next day with a concept sketch of Mr. 7, which the production then used as the basis for casting and designing the character for the show.
The Black Pearl Was a Real, Working Ship
Rather than relying purely on effects, the production built a full-size, genuinely seaworthy replica of the Black Pearl for filming. That physical ship went on to become just as much a symbol of the franchise as any of the actors.

In-game, Leonardo da Vinci relocates his workshop from Florence to Venice in 1481. In real history, Leonardo left Florence for Milan that year, not Venice, a deliberate artistic liberty so Ezio's ally could stay close during the Venice chapters.
A Restaurant Called Duck Hunt
As the brothers walk home through Brooklyn, they pass a restaurant with the French name Chasse au Canard painted on the window. Translate it and you get Duck Hunt, a sly little tribute to the 1985 NES light gun classic hiding in plain sight.

Hathaway wasn't a lock for the role from the start. Both Jessica Biel and Kate Mara did screen tests for Selina Kyle before Hathaway ultimately won the part, which then also led to Nolan casting her in Interstellar down the line.

To make its 2025 setting feel plausible rather than pure sci-fi, Treyarch brought in writer and defense analyst P.W. Singer, who handed developers a list of emerging military technologies sorted by how close they actually were to real deployment. That's part of why so many of the game's drones and cyberwarfare elements ended up feeling less like fantasy and more like an early preview of where things were actually heading.

One Piece and Dragon Ball Once Shared a Comic
Oda's friendship with Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama went beyond mutual respect.
