Fortune hunter Nathan Drake is catapulted headlong into an adventure that takes him on a daring trek into the heart of the Arabian Desert in a search for the fabled 'Atlantis of the Sands.' This journey pits him and his mentor Victor Sullivan against the occult treachery of a shadowy clandestine organization and its ruthless leader. When the terrible secrets of this lost city are unearthed, Drake's quest descends into a desperate bid for survival that strains the limits of his endurance and forces him to confront his deepest fears.

Right after the movie recreates that cargo plane sequence, Nate and Chloe wash up on a beach and bump into a random sunbather who nods along like he's heard it all before. That's Nolan North himself, the actual voice of Drake in the games, getting a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in a scene lifted from his own game.
This was the first mainline Uncharted where Greg Edmonson didn't handle the main score. Henry Jackman stepped in instead and wrote a new take on Nate's Theme, blending the old melody with a rougher, more piratey feel for a track simply titled A Thief's End.
Before settling on Chloe, Naughty Dog kicked around a few other ideas for who should lead this spin-off, including Victor 'Sully' Sullivan, Uncharted 3's Charlie Cutter, and even Cassie Drake, Nathan and Elena's daughter, who'd only been glimpsed as an adult in Uncharted 4's epilogue.
