Ghost Got a Complete Voice Recast

For The Taken King expansion, Bungie replaced Dinklage with veteran voice actor Nolan North, best known for Nathan Drake in Uncharted. Remarkably, North didn't just voice new lines, he re-recorded every single piece of Ghost dialogue from the original base game so the whole experience would feel consistent.

Justin Bieber, Movie Star

Scattered copies of a fictional newspaper called The Daily Metro pop up across the game, and if you stop to actually read the headlines, one of them is a proper gem: 'Uncharted 13: A Lush Movie — Justin Bieber as Drake.' Naughty Dog poking a bit of fun at their own flagship franchise.

Plushies of PlayStation Royalty

In Serenity Apartments, right after you meet Henry and Sam, take a look around the bedroom - there's a Jak & Daxter plush on the dresser and a Nathan Drake plushie on the bed. The remake even throws in a second Drake plush for good measure.

The Bank Vault Ring

Poke around the vault in the Seattle bank during Day 1 downtown and you'll find a drawer with an engraved ring sitting inside it. It's the same ring Nathan Drake wears throughout the Uncharted series, a nice little wink from Naughty Dog to their other flagship franchise.

Dressed as Nathan Drake

Among the various costumes and outfits players can dig up during their scavenging runs is a full Nathan Drake Halloween getup. It's become one of the most talked-about crossover finds in the whole game, mostly because it looks ridiculous on Ellie.

The Sic Parvis Magna Ring and a Point Break Chat

During the same scene where Ellie picks up a ring engraved with 'Sic Parvis Magna,' another Uncharted callback, she and Dina end up chatting about Point Break, the 1991 bank-heist movie with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. Two references stacked into one quiet conversation.

The Logo Hidden in the Blood

Early on when Drake and Tenzin stumble across a pile of dead wolves in the ice cave, don't rush past it. If you look closely at the blood splattered in the snow you'll spot a single red paw print sitting among the mess, which is actually a nod to the Naughty Dog logo itself, tucked into the scenery where most players never think to look.

Twelve Behind-the-Scenes Films

Sony didn't just ship the game and move on, they put out twelve short documentary segments covering how Naughty Dog actually built the thing, going into the motivation behind the story, the tech powering it and the acting process behind the mocap. The first batch shipped on the disc itself, with the rest trickling out online afterwards.

Revealed With a Marco Polo Twist

Game Informer broke the news on Uncharted 2 back in December 2008, and even then the outlet let slip that Marco Polo's real expeditions through Asia would be woven into the plot, long before anyone had actually played a second of it.

The First Teaser Was Just a Dagger in a Snowstorm

The very first teaser trailer, released December 1st 2008, showed almost nothing, just Drake reaching out for a dagger in the middle of a snowstorm, rendered in the actual in-game engine rather than a flashy pre-rendered cutscene.
