Inside Endon's house in Markarth, a wheel of cheese has been carved into a perfect Pac-Man shape, complete with a row of garlic cloves standing in for the dots he'd normally be chomping through in the arcade classic.

During 'A Night to Remember', a hagraven named Moira mutters 'my precious' while trying to hold onto a wedding ring the player needs, a direct callback to Gollum's obsession with the One Ring in The Lord of the Rings.
South of the Shrine to Peryite, a skeleton is found wedged in a narrow mountain pass with a saber cat impaled on a glass sword beside it, restaging the scene from 300 where Leonidas traps and kills a wolf in a narrow pass using a similar technique.
The massive stone carving known as Alduin's Wall, which kicks off the hunt for the Dragonrend shout, hides visual references to events from earlier Elder Scrolls games: the Staff of Chaos from Arena, Numidium from Daggerfall, Red Mountain from Morrowind, and an Oblivion Gate from Oblivion, all worked into the carved history of the World-Eater.
