Early drafts of Amumu's backstory described him as a mummified human child rather than a Yordle, which is a considerably darker starting point than what shipped. Riot eventually softened the concept, but even as a Yordle he's still stuck wandering the world alone, cursed and crying, so it's not exactly a cheerful ending either way.

Co-creator Christian Linke has confirmed that Riot and Fortiche are already a year into developing the next chapter of the Arcane universe, this time exploring the regions of Noxus, Ionia and Demacia rather than revisiting Piltover and Zaun directly. Riot has since clarified it's not necessarily three separate shows, more a single project exploring those regions, with reports suggesting a late 2026 or early 2027 window.
Shortly after Arcane wrapped, Riot released a League of Legends cinematic called 'Welcome to Noxus' following Mel Medarda heading home to her birth nation, which a lot of fans took as a not-so-subtle hint about where the next show in the franchise might be headed.
Alongside animated spinoff plans, there have been reports of a separate live-action League of Legends TV project, with location scouting reportedly taking place in Vietnam's Cát Bà Archipelago for a planned nine-episode series. It's a completely different production from the Arcane team's animated follow-up.
